On behalf of Aurora Deaf Aid Africa (ADAA) we wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Rwanda National Union of the Deaf (RNUD) and Rwanda Deaf Community as a whole for their kindness and support to their deaf counterparts from Burundi who have fled there due to the political crisis in their own country.
We must, however, express special thanks to Deaf leader Samuel Munana and Augustin Munyangeyo, who agreed to provide two days free training in leadership and management to deaf people from Burundi. They provided not only training but also practical and logistical support. Those skills and experience the Burundians deaf have gained will be used to build their own community when they return to Burundi.
Once again thanks to the Rwandan deaf community for their invaluable assistance and hospitality they continue to provide to deaf refugees from Burundi.
We also hope that ADAA and RNUD will work together in the future as partners.
